27 weeks...13 more to go!

I know it's been a while, but things have been crazy lately. I'm trying to stay organized and putting together the wedding and getting ready for the baby. Oh, did I mention that we're moving as well in the midst of all this. We'll need a bigger place and baby Gaboda has to sleep somewhere. :) We'll be moving in 2 and a half weeks up the street into a town home complex. There's tons more storage and it looks like a good neighborhood. I'll post pics after we've settled in a bit.

I can't remember if I've mentioned this already or not. I swear, this child is taking all my brain cells, but we've decided on a name for baby Gaboda. He'll be Christened as Taylor Daniel Gaboda. He's moving around a lot more often. I feel him everyday: kicking, rolling over, hiccups, etc...
We're all hanging in there and waiting in anticipation.

20 weeks down...20 more to go

So I finally had that uber important ultra sound. It marks my half way point! It was one of the weirdest things to see another human moving inside you. We were able to see the heart beat and hear it at the same time, as well as all the different parts of the anatomy. Especially important part of the anatomy determined what we are having. It's a BOY!!!! A mini Travis if you will. :) We're still deciding on names, but what's the rush right? We only have 4 more months till this one graces the world with it's presence. Till then, enjoy some of the pics!

Just for fun

I was perusing through my pictures and came across a few from one of the department picnics and others as well. When I saw these I started to feel a bit nostalgic. I hope you all enjoy them as much as I did.

Baby Gaboda update

Well, I finally had my first doctors appointment, and we to go home with our first baby picture. It might be hard to see, but it's a plan view of baby Gaboda. You can see the big round thing is it's head and on either side of it, those two faded round things, are it's arms. It was rather difficult to get a good picture of it since it kept doing 360s. In 11 weeks we'll be able to have another ultra sound and at that point should be able to determine what the sex is. For now, everything looks great and baby Gaboda has a good steady heart beat. Already it has developed all it's organs and has finger nails. If you haven't seen it yet, go see "Juno". An amazing movie. It gives a great perspective on life and those pregnancy symptoms were not exaggerated. Keep an eye out for future updates and pictures!

say what?!?!?

I'm Pregnant!!! Travis and I are officially pregnant. Obviously we wanted to wait until after the wedding, but these things just aren't meant to be. So I'm 6 weeks along, and the baby is due August 30th.

My business is going to be put on hold for now while I find a "Real" job. Can't support a family on just hopes and dreams. Reality bites.

But I am happy about the baby. We were always planning on getting pregnant, just not this soon.

I'll be sure to keep you all updated on this one. I should be able to find out the sex in 10 weeks. And I will post some early baby pictures too.

I'm scared, nervous, happy, uncertain, excited, you name it I'm feeling it. But I know things will turn out alright. Travis will be great and I know I have the support of my friends.

We are keeping the wedding date, so don't change your calendar. We'll just be bringing the baby along with us for the ride. I hope you all can be there to meet either him or her.

Wish me luck!

Does that make me crazy.....?

Lately I have been putting in a lot of work at UT. They're trying to put up "Christmas Carol" and the charge has only 3.5 weeks to paint the show. There's quite a bit of hard scenery and a drop, so I've been trying to make her world a little less chaotic. Since there isn't a really good place to paint the drop, we've been told that we'll be painting it about 20 minutes away from the University in a building that was originally constructed as a hospital for the colored insane. That's right, I said colored insane. Where we will be painting this drop is on the second floor where all the patients slept. The sign commemorating this facility still exists on the side of the building, so Andrea (the charge) and I decided that we had to take a couple pictures. Only in Tennessee............Enjoy:

One is the lonliest: Part II

After a 6 hours notice of my "partner's" departure, she apparently left for Florida. That was on Friday. Around 2pm Saturday afternoon I received a phone call from her saying that she was half way through Georgia when she decided not to move to Florida and work things out here. I had asked her if she was planning on coming back to the business, and she said that it would be my decision. I told her I would have to talk to her about this on Monday since I was at work when all this was happening. In my mind there was no way I wanted her to come back to the business. Obviously she wasn't reliable. The proved to be true once more when she called me back on Sunday and informed me that she almost out of the state of Tennessee and would be moving to Florida once more. She's a good person at heart, just needs to get her shit together before she goes into business for herself or with someone else.

From this experience, I learned that I really need to have more confidence in my abilities and try to go out on the limb by myself. There was a bit of poor judgment on my part with this whole partnership. And I relied to heavily on the wrong people. So I think all is for the best and I hope that my solo business will do well.

That, and maybe I can get some more over hire work at UT. Or in the future, maybe full time work. After the next school year there will be an asst. props position open..............
